Merry Christmas to all...and to all a good fight!

Well another year has come and gone and we find ourselves one week from Christmas? How did this happen?  I still have Halloween decorations on my front porch and Leftover turkey in the fridge...??

Well it happens this way every year. We enjoy the Summer so much. BBQ's and weekends at the lake. Sunburns and cold beers and holiday fireworks. It's seems like it is going to last forever... and then a chilly wind blows through in early October. And then we kick off fall. We have three holidays in seven weeks...all involving eating by the way. Everything is judged by Christmas. "Only "blank" days till Christmas" is the type of phrase coming from a cashier that if I'm in a good mood, I smile and nod my head. If I'm in a bad mood I will attempt to strangle that cashier...Full disclosure, that's why I'm not allowed back into Lowe's. We count how many paychecks till Christmas, and it is never enough. I think Christmas sneaks up on us because we avoid looking it in the eye. We love the idea of Christmas, but the overwhelming task of pulling it off is daunting. Seems silly that we get caught up in the lights, and size of the tree,  and the cards and phone calls, endless parties and the perfect picture to post on Facebook. How can anyone be happy amid all that?

Christmas should be about love. Love for each other, love for the children. Love for strangers and friends alike. If we have that, it makes all that other stuff bearable. Merry Christmas to all this year. I look forward to hearing from you in 2020!
